The sulfenamide accelerator is a benzothiazole sulfenamide compound used as a vulcanization accelerator.
Sulfenamide accelerators are currently the fastest growing accelerators. The scorch time and vulcanization speed of sulfenamide accelerators depend on the nature of the amine in the accelerator molecule. The stronger the basicity of the amine, the faster the vulcanization rate; the greater the steric hindrance of the amine, the longer the scorch time, and the sulfur rate decreases.
