What is the performance meaning of rubber products and its use significance?

1. Tensile strength

It is also known as tearing strength or tensile strength, refers to the force required by the unit area when the rubber is torn, expressed in MPa. The tear strength is an important performance index to measure the mechanical strength of rubber. The greater the value, the better the strength of rubber.

2. Elongation at break

It referred to as elongation, refers to the ratio of the stretched length and the original length when the rubber is torn, expressed as a percentage (%). It is a performance indicator to measure the plasticity of rubber, and the large elongation means that the rubber has a soft texture and good plasticity. For the performance of rubber, it must have an appropriate elongation, but too much is not good.

3. Tear permanent deformation

It also known as tear deformation or permanent deformation, is also an important performance indicator to measure rubber plasticity. It means that after the rubber is stretched and broken, it is parked for a certain time (usually 3min), and the ratio of the increased length of the deformation part and the original length is expressed as a percentage (%). The smaller the value, the better the elasticity of the rubber. In addition, the elasticity of rubber can also be measured by compression deformation.

4. Resilience

It also known as resilience, or impact elasticity, elasticity, is a measure of rubber elasticity of a performance index. With a pendulum impact rubber at a certain height, the ratio of the height of the rebound to the original height is called the rebound rate, expressed as a percentage (%). The greater the value, the higher the elasticity of the rubber.

5. Fixed elongation strength

It also called fixed elongation strength, refers to rubber elongation to a certain length, that is, elongation to 100%, 200%, 300%, 500%, the force required per unit area, expressed in N/cm². This is an important mechanical properties index to measure the strength and toughness of rubber, the greater the value, the better the strength and toughness of rubber, indicating that the rubber is less prone to elastic deformation.
