Varieties and functions of main raw materials used in rubber production

1. Raw glue

The main material of rubber production. According to the different sources, it includes natural rubber (NR), synthetic rubber (SR) and recycled rubber.

1.1 NR: It is manufactured by cutting latex from rubber trees after certain processing technology, mainly including 10# and 20# standard glue (SMR10, SMR20, STR20, etc.), and the Muney viscosity of the rubber compound is controlled during production (83±10). Compound NR: about 3% of other substances are added to NR, such as carbon black, styrene butadiene glue, stearic acid, etc. At present, we use 97%STR20+2.5% styrene butadiene glue +0.5% stearic acid compound glue.

1.2 SR: Rubber with different properties produced by artificial chemical synthesis. Generally, the comprehensive performance is not as good as NR. The main products are high cis-butyl adhesive BR9000, styrene butadiene adhesive SBR1500, isopentane adhesive IR, low cis-butyl adhesive INTEN50, brominated butyl adhesive BIIR, chlorinated butyl adhesive CIIR, etc.

1.3 Recycled rubber: The waste vulcanized rubber is degraded and returned to raw rubber that can be reused through a certain desulfurization process.

 

2. Fill with reinforcing agent

Function: Mainly to improve the physical and mechanical properties of rubber, reduce the cost of rubber and so on.

2.1 Carbon black: the main filling and reinforcing agent used for rubber compound, including N115, N121, N326, N375, N660, etc. N represents the normal vulcanization rate, the first digit indicates the particle size range of carbon black, and the last two digits indicate the structure degree of carbon black in the same particle size range.

2.2 White carbon black: increase the tear resistance of the rubber, reduce the rolling resistance, heat generation, and increase the adhesive force between rubber and steel wire.

2.3 Calcium carbonate: mainly to increase the volume of the compound, reduce the cost, and basically have no impact on the physical properties of the compound.

 

3. Softener and plasticizer

Function: mainly wet rubber macromolecules, increase intermolecular lubrication, to reduce the viscosity of the rubber compound, improve processing performance, reduce production energy consumption, etc. Mainly: aromatic oil, oxidized asphalt, plasticizer FS-200.

 

4. Antioxidant

Function: The rubber has the function of resisting various conditions (heat, oxygen, ozone, ultraviolet, salt water, etc.), and maintains the performance of the rubber compound. There are two kinds of physical and chemical antioxidants.

Chemical antioxidant: 4020 (6PPD), RD, 3100 (DTPD); Physical antioxidant: B type microcrystalline wax, white particles.
